The public health nursing program is dedicated to the prevention of disease and the maintenance of good health for individuals and families in the community. Services that are offered through public health nursing include:
Communicable Disease Program
- Communicable disease reporting and follow-up
- Immunizations
- Foreign travel
- Sexually transmitted disease reporting, treatment and follow-up
- Tuberculosis screening, treatment, and follow-up
- HIV counseling, testing, and referral
Chronic Disease Program
The following chronic disease screenings are offered:
- Blood Pressure
- Fasting blood sugar
- Hemoglobin A1C
- Fasting cholesterol
- Fasting comprehensive metabolic panel
- Fasting liver panel
