The mission of the health department is to prevent the spread of disease and to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles among residents of Franklin-Williamson counties.
The Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department was organized in 1960 after a referendum vote of the people of Franklin and Williamson counties in 1959. It began operation in 1961. The health department has two offices to better serve the two-county area.
